The examinacion of Margaret the wife of ffrancis Armstrong of Moneyglass in the parish of Dunneen in the County of Antrim taken before vs the said 18th day of March 1652
<59:> Who being duely sworne & examined saith That vpon Saturday at night the 23d of October 1641 Neile oge O Quin & some Irish <A> followers late in the night came from Moneymore vnto the Towne of Lissan & possessed themselves of Sir Thomas Staples house at Lissan & the same night the Irish who came with him robbed the English dwelling there, of all their goods but for the present spared the Scotch; That after the Victory the Irish had at Garvagh against the Brittish, they likewise robbed the Scotch & killed John Young James Young John Armstrong Andrew Carter & his wife neere Lissan Mills; & that at the same time Neile oge ô Quin commanded all the Irish men which were in Lissan And further this Examinant saith that her husband being a shomaker & all the rest of the Brittish in Lissan who were tradesmen or Artificers or belonged to Sir Thomas Staples Iron=workes were saved from death & imployed by the said Neile oge ô Quin by orders from Sir Phelomy roe ô Neile to worke in their severall trades for the Benefitt of the Irish then risen in Rebellion. That in November 1641 as she this Examinante remembers One Andrew Young of Lissan aforesaid was murdred in his owne house in Lissan aforesaid by James McIveagh & Henry O Haggan as by the report of all the brittish & Irish thenr in Lissan it was at & presently after the very time of his killing given fourth And further she saith not
