The examinacion of John Kennaday of Dunboe in the County of Londonderry labourer taken before vs at Colerane the 19th day of March 1652
<60:> Who being duely sworne & examined saith That in September 1651 one Rory Duffe McCormacke of Dunboe parish aforesaid came vnto him this Examinant being makeing a stacke of Corne & desired a helpe of Corne from him, to whom this Examinant answered how could he aske a helpe of Corne from a Scotchman when he knocked all Scotchmen in the head to which he replyed, not he, Then this Examinant asked him if he did not kill John Hilhouse who dwelt in Dunboe the night after the fight of Garvagh & he answered he did not kill him but the soldiers which were in his the said Rories Company killed him and alsoe this Examinante saith that the said Rory Duffe McCormacke then told him that he oftentimes that night bid the said John Hilhouse give over his house & that when he came out (the house being first fired) the soliders in the said Rories Company murdred [of] the said John Hilhous as he told this Examinant. And further this Examinant saith not.
