The examinacion of Tirlagh McRichard O Cahan of Monnister in the parish of Derrikighan Gent taken before vs at Colerane the 25 day of March 1653
<63:> Who being duely sworned & examined saith That about two or three nights after the murder at Portnaw one John Neaven was murdred in Monnister but this examinante did not see him killed; But by one Phelomy Trowlan whom he believes if he be alive to be in some parte on the Eastside the Bann confessed & told him this Examinante about a quarter of a yeare <A> after the said murder that he the said Phelomy Trowlan & one Donnell ô Connor who since as he heares went vnto Spaine killed the said John Neaven And further this Examinante saith That Connogher reagh ô Cahan the bastard sonn of Gilduffe ô Cahan of Dunsevericke about the said time killed as he hath credibly heard at Monnister aforesaid widdow Loggan who was fowerscore yeares of age And that Neece Dorragh Mulderrig now liveing in the Roote or Claneboys did t ake likewise about the said time with some others of his Surname or Company in Monnister aforesaid kill another Scotchman whose name he knowes not as this Examinante being then dwelling at Monnister hath alsoe credibly heard from both the Scotch & Irish And further he saith not
