Saith that in the begininge of the Rebellion he went dwelt in Carnmevy [ ] & beinge in the Guard with James Hamilton & Alexander Rosse one John ffulton that dwelled on Michaell Duns land came to the said James & desired theire aide to fetch backe nyne Cowes taken from the said ffulton, wherevnto the said Hamilton & Rosse agreeing went with about ffity men towards one Humphrey Saxton, who had the same Cowes in his possession as it was then said & beleeued, & by the way they mett Michall Duns Groome & another man who desired the foresaid Hamilton to goe to Mr Duns house to drinke with his Master by the token that both the said Dun & Hamilton had beene in Carrickfergus the Saturday day before to gitt powder, & that his Master beinge not well after his journey was at home & would make him & all his men to Drinke, the said Hamilton consented to goe but Rosse would not, where vpon (there beinge about 200 of the Irish that liued & was gathered together thereabouts joyntly fell on the said Hamilton & his men, & tooke him prisoner & killd Rosse & about eighteene more as it was reported, & beinge asked if he knew the names of any of the Irishmen that did the murther he saith he knew none but one fferdorah McGee about <then> fifty six yeares of age as he supposeth, & beinge asked whom he knew that was now liueing that was at that place on the Brittish party nameth (besyds som examined) John Greene liueing beyond the maine Water, John Wilson liues that way also. & one Roger O Cane liueinge about Kilmattenett & one Adam Scott liueing about Killelaugh
