William Bentley of Beneley neere Drogheda Taylor aged fforty years or thereabouts being duely sworne and examined sayth that much about Aprill 1642 to the best of his remembrance vppon report of the marching of an Army of English and Scotts

From Lisnegarvye or those parts towards the Countye of Cavan hee this Examinant being then in Charlemount saw many Irish with seuerall droves of Cattle <E> driving thorow Charl Charlemount and amongst them many faire Oxen and Cowes and a studd of horses mares and Colts which some of the Irish then there present said in the Examinants hearing were Mr Michaell Doynes Cattle And further sayth that by the report of the English in those parts the said Michaell Doyne was very inveterate against all of the English Nacion And further hee sayth not.
