John ffulton being Examined saieth, that att the begininge of the warrss: his ffather & him selfe & others then Liued neere vnto Mr Michell Doynes: who had theyre Cattell taken away by oone Coshnachan (one) of the Irish Rebells butt the said Mr Doyne hering thereof [att las t] sent & brought the said Cattell to his owne & often promised this Examinants father that hee should haue his <A> goods againe, but neuer performed it, Insoemuch that this deponants ffather, him self & many more of the said Scotch Neighbors to the number of 40: or thereabouts: went <and> vnder the Comand of one Capten Hamalton: toe ffetch there <said> Cattell away: but apeeringe Neere the said Michell Doynes house: the Enemy Gathered very ffast: & many of them beinge formerly Neighbors shooke other by the hand & that Enemy wisht the said Scots not: to be afraide & but this deponant further saieth, that as many himse{lf} & the rest of his Company weere Come within si{ght} of the said Mr Doines howes: thay sawe twoe servant me{n of} the said Mr Dones Cominge Ridinge vppon twe of the {said} <B> Mr Doines horses well knowne vnto this Examinant: the {name} of one of the said men {} Cane o Harre the ot{her} this Examinante knoweth not, whoe when thay Came to the Irish party {} & had spoken vnto them: but this deponant knoweth not {what} thay saide onley the whole Number of the Enemy ffe{ll} vppon the said Capten Hamelton & those with him, where thay t{ooke}the said Capten prisoner: & kilt the number of 17 the rest escaped by runinge seaverall wayes: but what became of the said Capten this Examinant knoweth not onley he hard of he was Caried vnto the said Mr Doynes House: & afterwards put to death: but knoweth not by whome: & further saieth
