Who being duely sworne & examined saith that haueing escaped from the massacre which was comitted vpon seuerall of their friends in Isle Magee by the Scotts he came towards Carrickfergus with both his father named Owen moder Magee & others & as they were comeing in to the gate of Carrickfergus this examinants father related vnto him that one John McGuagh who was a dweller without the gate in the Scotch quarters had inuited him to come into his house & not to goe into <A> towne lest some harme harme might befall him by reason of a Proclamacion which had ben proclaimed for the slaying of all Irish Papists which had gone into Rebellion but this examinant father said he would not & soe they went all togeather into the said towne & one Capten McCullogh mett with them who examined of this examinants father wherefore they came into towne who relate{d} vnto him the whole matter being for the reason aforesaid because of the seuerall massacres that was comitted neere their habitacions vpon which the said McCullogh being Captain of the Guard & some of the soldiers of his company being also present he was to with his said father & the rest were taken away by the said S{ } vnto the Guard but by whose orders this examinant knoweth no{t} & haueing stayed there a while was caryed thrust out of the towne by soldiers & others by a multitude of people where they were all slaine by them except this examinant & one Pat{rick} Magee who escaped from them And being demanded if {he} <B> knew any of the said co mpany people which were ca ry thrusting them out of the towne as aforesaid saith he saw some of Capten McCulloghes soldiers there & kneweth not any of them by name except one John McClune who was a Sergeant of the {said}

Capten McCulloghes company who was asisting the rest & now a prisoner here in Gaole who was asisting with the rest of the people in putting this examinant his father & the rest out of towne as aforesaid. And further saith not.
