The Examinacion of John Bevins of the Cittie of Dublin gent taken the 22th of Nov: 1641
<H> Who saith that about Ten of the clock on last saturday morning he heard one John De[ ]e Den relate and tell vnto one William Bourke that a gentleman that Came out of the Countie of wickloe was mett with by the rebells, and the gentleman drawing out his sworde, the rebells tooke away from him his naked sworde, and left the scabbard with the this Gentleman and that the rebells soe threatned him, that the gentleman and and sayd that if he would not leave the Cittie within [ ] 14 daies it would be an ill day <J> for them here or wordes to that effect, and the said Den sayd, that the said Gentlemans name was Archbold, and that he Came that night to the howse of the said Dens Brother, who is a barber dwelling vppon the Cockhill in Dublin, and further saith. that the said Den heretofore went to Masse, but of late heard, since the said Den Came to his Master, the said Den went to church
