The examination of Mary Thomson wife of John Thomson clerke taken before me one of his Maiesties Justices of the peace for the County of Catherlogh this
Who beinge duly sworne saith that hir husband John Thomson had al his estate taken from him by the rebells & that he & this examinant & hir children were kept prisoners in the fort of Leighlin in the County of Catherlogh as hir said husband in his examination hath declared & that Walter Bagnol of Donlicknye in the County of Catherlogh hath the commande of that fort & that for a time he kept house in it with his wife & hir two sonnes the Plunketes which she had by a former husband & the rest of his famelye
She also saith that Mrs Bagnol did take this examinant twise or thrise to walke abroade with hir & hath bine in the house with hir, & one time this examinant walkeinge with hir she had in hir companye hir eldest sonne Mr Plunket who went Armed with a sword & a carbine such as horsemen or troupers haue & ther was with hir also one Butler a seirient Maior & they were talkeinge about the fort for making of it stronger, & this examinant heard the said Plunket aduiseinge to make it stronger with stone worke, & that ther is accordingly an addition of stone worke made in the gate
This examinant beinge also at another time with Mrs Bagnol in the said fort hir said eldest sonne Plunket came vnto hir & demanded gunpouder of hir, but whether she gaue him any or not at that time this examinant knoweth not.
