Elizabeth the relict of Thomas Crafford late Viccar of Ballincormock in the County of Longford clarck duely sworne and examined saith That since the 22th of October 1641 this deponents late husband haueing and beeing possesd of Catle sheepe one stoud horse 2 naggs and 2 mares Corne, Leases and other goods and chattels in all worth 188 li. 12 s. 6 d. and of his viccaridge and liueing worth 80 li. per annum He the said Thomas Crafford heareing of the present Rebellion first conveyd his goods into the Castle of Longford and kept them there soe long as they could get hay or meate for there catle but then one Richard mc Connell ffarell ofin the parish Clingisse and said Countie gent a recusant desired that the said Catle might be deliuered to his Custody and keepeing vpon his promise to restore them, wherevpon 20 of the said Cowes and 2 Naggs and one mare were deliuerd to him, who haueing them did within a weeke after or thereabouts goe into Rebellion and kept the same cattle naggs and mare to his owne vse, then afterwards vizt about 5 weekes since, when the Rebells hereafter named had perswaded and prevailed with hir husband and diuers others to leaue: and come out of the Castle, then they the said Rebells vizt <A.> Com Crosse of ffarrall of Longford Clogh gent Roger Naule of or neare to the parrish of Tacksummitt gent Barthellowmew Nawle of Longford aforesaid marchant Rory ffarrell of the parrish of Clingis{h} in the Countie of Longford a tennant to St John Seaton Knight and Lishagh ffarrell his brother

ffawnagh mc Lisagh ffarrell sonne and heire <B.> aparent to Lisagh Duffe of Newtowne in the said countie gent and one John Reynolds of Garrowneere St Johnstowne in the said Countie of Longford; and diuers others robbed the Castle and hir husbands house of all their goods there and first stript hir husband hir selfe and children of all there clothes by John: Reynolds then one of the Rebells stabd hir husband with a sword whereof he lay languishing three houres, and then the Rebels or some of them stabd him into the throat and wounded him into the head soe as he dyed thereof and then turned this deponent and hir 5 children naked away exposed to hunger and cold and extreame want and at the same tyme the said Rebells or some of them stabd killed one ffrancis Martin merchant Mathew Baker vintner John Smith Tho: Allen John a butcher one other who was a sadler, another that was a Millner and by report diuers others: And further saith that before hir husband and the rest left the Castle which they for six weekes space had kept against the Rebells; the Rebells promised and gaue it in writeing, that hir husband and the rest there should quietly passe away with their liues and as much of there cloathes as they could carry away on there horses backs. But haueing vpon that promise gotten possesion of the Castle they violated their promise by their cruell actions aforesaid And further saith that the Rebells aforesaid at their first Comming said that hir husband and the rest must be gone and leaue the Castle within 8 daies or els none of them should liue, And that it was

The Kings pleasure that all the English should be banished, and loose there goods because the Queenes preist was hangd before hir face, and because the English had chosen the Palsgraue for there new King, But that his maiestie who was then in Scotland charged them the said Rebells that they should not entermedle with any Scotchman at all; nor hurt them, but onely with the Englishe.
