<x> <25> Joan Coursy alias daly nowe of Kinsale aged 65 yeares or thereabouts being sworne & examined saith shee liued at Belgooly diuers yeares before the rebellion in Ireland, & kept an In there in the yeare 1641 & about shrouetide in the same yeare there assembled together John Long, Phillip Barry oge, Dauid Mellafont James Roche of Cunery dauid og Rea Richard Roche fitz dauid of Gluny, Richard Roche fitz John of the Island & the Chiefe of the Newgents, but whether his name were James Newgent or noe she knowes not; & she beleeues thinkes that Phillip Roche of Polle Cong was there, and William Mellafont & Robert Garret Mellafont the sonnes of James Mellafont of Waters land, & alsoe saith the said James Mellafont & Piers Goggan, were likewise there, whome shee saw there but one day. & saith there were A greate number of the Common sorte of people with the said assembly gentle And this deponent saith that when those gentlemen came to consult at her house (which was they did seuerall times) they did vsually turne she her & her husband out of doores; and would be priuate, two ot three houres at a time & saith she did not knowe whoe hang’d Robert Beer & his wife & of oyster hauen; but not the time when they were fetched from their house to Belgooly nor the persons that fetched them, alsoe nor whoe they were hanged them, nor did not know of their death till the next day after their hanging death, & saith shee did not know by whose order it was done; alsoe saith shee had hid one Pasqua dolbier vnder a bed to haue preserued <B> him, but Mr John Longsman (vizt) one Teige o Line & his sonne donough whoe fetched the said Pasqua out of her house, & carryed him to the Castle & at Belgooly & hang’d him either the next day, or the next night after this deponent heard that two daughters of Robert Beers were throwne ouer a rocke neare Cunary, but by whome she knowes not, & further saith not
