The Examinacion of Edmond Wall taken the day and yeare aforesaid
<w> Who being examined and sworne to so much as concerneth others sayeth that he is of no trade and hath neuer a Master but that is most abodel hath beene at Mainham neere clongowes wood where he had a mother liuing but where she be aliue nowe or no he knoweth not, and saieth that in the morning that the English army came to Clongowes wood he was setting by a fire in the a house in the towne, and when he heard of the armyes comming he runne into the Castle for feare least the army should haue killed him, hauing neuer beene in the castle then in his life before, and being demaunded what he did all the time of the fight, he saieth that he was putting fire under a Griddle to bake breade and used neither musket r nor pike nor any other weapon, nor euer used any in his life, and further cannot depose.
