The Examinacion of Peirce Nugent ploweman taken before mee Sir William Ryues knight this 7th day of July 1642
<c> Who being examined an sworne to so much as concerneth others sayeth that he was in the Castle of Clongowes hath beene seruant in husbandry unto James Eustace of Clongowes wood this twelue month last past, and but dwelled in a house in the towne and neuer came into the Castle but upon some occasion, and confesseth that he was in the said Castle when the english army came before it on Saturday last, but came went not in & to it but the uery morning that when the english army came before it denieth to haue used any weapon in the fight, but onely he did fetch bullets and match and such necessaries as the ffighters had occasion to use, and further saieth not more then is formerly declared by the former examinates
