The examjnacion of Murrogh mc Edmond oge Byrne of Laughlinstowne in the County of Dublin aged threescore and nyne yeare or thereabouts taken the xxjth of ffebr 1652 before vs
Whoe beeing duely examjned saith That when the Rebellion in Ireland began vizt in october 1641 hee the examjnant liued at the downe in the County of Wickloe Hee saith that soone after the Rebellion when Sir Charles Coote with parte of the English Army went to the County of Wickloe, the examjnant was then at Balligarny in the said County of Wickloe when one and that John Leeson of an at which tyme there were three Englishmen hanged there but what there names were hee knoweth not but saith that one of them was son to William Roe of Killcoan whose Sirname hee knoweth not hee saith that hee knoweth not by whose direccion they were hanged, but hee heard

heard that Phillipp Rely of the Downe and william mc Murrogh of Killcoole were they that hanged the son of the said William Roe, & that the said Rely & mc Murrogh are both dead, Hee saith hee did not hang the said Leeson or any other, neither did hee euer say that his owne hands did hang the said Leeson, or any words to that effect And further cannott say
