The examynation of Charles Dunn, of Brittas in the Queenes Couny County Gent aged about Twenty fiue yeers beeinge taken the 7o febr: 1652
<A> The sayd Examinant beeinge duly sworne & Examyned saith, that hee this Examinant sayth was at the Camp of Owen Roe after hee had taken in the fort off Marybrough in the Queenes County in or about the month of October 1646 & heard the said Owen Roe (who was Generall of the Irish, Comand a partie to Goe & storme the Castle of Dysert, & Lieutenant Generall farell was (as this examinant Remembers) Commander in Cheife of the sayd partie, hee sayth that hee doth not know whither any quarter was promysed, or not - but hee saith hee heard that maior Jo. Pigott did Giue order to Barnaby Dunn (this Examinants father) to goe forth of the

The Castle of Dysert (whearin the sayd Barnaby was with the said maior, to drawe Conditions for Quarter,
and further this examinant saith he Cannott that in the night or Eueninge of the day that the dysert was stormed this examinant Came to a thatcht house neer (within about a pistoll shott) vnto the Castle of Dysert wheare this examinants sayd father & Mrs Martha Pigott (with severall others that Came stript out of the said Dysert Castle weare And the afforesaid Lieutenant Generall ffarell (beeinge then a Collonel, as this examinant thinketh) was in the sayd thatcht house with dyvers others, & this examinant but whether that sayth that hee knoweth sawe the said Barnaby in the said house with the said ffarell before Mrs Pigott, & her daughters & others weare brought in to them, & this examinant saith that he knows not whether the said ffarell was in that house afforesaid at the tyme that this examinants father opened the Grate & came out, & further This examinant,
