The Examinacion of John Elliott Prisoner taken before the 4th day of March 1652
Who sayth that as he was ryding vpon the way by Danistowne he saw 6 or 7 men at which sight before he came to them <A> he drew out one of his Pistolls in his owne defence fearing they might haue been Torys and when he came vp to them he knew they were freinds for that he knew One Mr Kent and one Connonly that were then with them and haueing his pistoll still in his hand by lying vpon his left thy and as he came by them his Pistoll went of but whether his thy or finger or bridle put it of he knowes not whereby he peceaued loking back that one of the Company was hurt but the man that soe hapened to be hurt he knew not at all before that tyme. and this Examinant being ryd away presently being very sorry for that which had hapned
