The Examinacion of Mr William Mcewoy of Ballinskeagh in the County of Meath neere Dengan taken before vs Mayor William Cadogan Joslyn Vsher & Mr Robert Lyll Esquires the 10o of february 1653 Concerning murders & Masacres by order from the high Court of Justice bearing date at Dublyn the 2d february 1653
The said William Macevoy being duly sworne & Examined by vertu of his oath sayth that he doth know one Edward Wisely late of the Dengen theis six yeares past, & never heard or knew but that the said Edward kild any Englishman or soulder neere longwood, or any where els oneth he heard Mr Walter C this Examinate further deposeth the he this Examinate meeting with Walter Cusacke of Rathregan at the towne of Coolmullin in the said County of Meath aforesaid about December last or theraboutes he this Examinate fell haveing heard that the said Edward Wisely was Comitted vpon some informacions of the said Walter Cusacke; he this Examinant tould tould the said Cusacke that it was not well done of him to bring the said Wisly into trouble without good grounds for that this Examinant did Conceive that the said Wisly was not guilty of the said Crime objected against him wherunto the said Cusacke Answeared that he was confident that the said Wisly was not guilty of that fact which he was charged withall; & further deposeth not.
