The exam of Roger mc nemarrow now Rathregan but late of the Deingen in the County of Meath aforesaid taken the day & yeare aforesaid
The said exam Roger beeing duly sworne sayth that he hath knowne Edward Wisely thes 7 or 8 yeares past & <A> sayth that he never knew nor heard that the said Edward Wisly did kyll or murder any man onely this Examinate beeing in the howse of Rickard Gowney about eight yeares of the last St Patricks day that then Edward Wisly Came into the said howse about midnight where Gerrott Wisely & Robert Taath desceased were then & divers others whose names he remembreth not at which tyme the said Edward Wisly & one Teiug flanagan in his Company Came into the said howse the said Edward Wisly haveing a frise Coat or c loak e in his hand saying that he tooke it from an English soulder about Longwood, his Master Gerrott Wisly finding fault with him & saying telling that it was ill done of him to take such a thing from any man in the sesation tyme vnto which the said Edward Wisly Answeard that it is noe matter for that th e said sould er he will never come to complayne, but he & he further deposeth that the said Edward Wisly beeing demanded whither he killed the man from whome he tooke the aforesaid Coat, sayth that he did not heear him Acknowledge it, nor confesse it that he acted any such thing, & further deposeth not.
