The Examinacion of Edward Synnot of Roslare yeoma{n} aged about fortie foure yeares taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Paule Turnor of wexford in the County of wexford gent deceased
<To the 1st Interr> The Examinant deposeth and saith that he well knew the said Paule Turnor, and that the said Paule to his personall knowledge dwelt at wexford in the Irish quarters the first yeare of the Rebellyon & sithence and did not thence remooue into the english <o> quarters as many english and protestants Liuing in wexford then did, the deponents cause of knowledge is that Hee liued in wexford in the first yeare of the said Rebellyon & afterwardes serued vnder the said Paule as in the Consequence will appere
<To the 2d interr> Hee cannot depose
<To the 3d interr> Hee deposeth and saith that he verily beleiues that the said Paule did the first yeare of the rebellyon & sithence actually <p> Contribute his proporcion of publicque taxes Imposed on the towne and Countrey for maintenance of the Irish forces then in Armes against the english, it being a generall thing.
<To the 4th interr> Hee deposeth and saith that to his personall knowledge the said Paule was in Actuall Armes for the Irish in the <q> yeare 1643: And as the deponent beleiueth the said Paule was in Armes before that yeare.
<To the 5th & 6th> Hee cannot depose
<To the 7th interr> Hee deposeth and saith that he beleiues the said Paule did take the oath of associa{cion} It being an vniuersall <r> thing throughout the whole nacion of the Irish
<To the 8th interr> Hee cannot depose
<To the 9th interr> Hee deposeth and saith that the said Paule was in the yeare 1643: gouernor of the forte of Roslare for the <s> Irish, and was Captaine of the men a Company of men then guarrissoned therein: The deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent serued in the Capacity of Serjeant in the said Paules Company in the said forte of Roslare as aforesaid: In which Comand the said Paule continued till

the said forte was surrenderred by the said Paule to the Lord generall Cromwells Army, except some small tyme that one <t> Capt Marcus ffurlong of wexford and one Deuereux son to Phillip Deuereux of the Dipps had the Comand of the said forte, his cause of knowledge apperes
<To the 10th inter> The examinant deposeth that the said Paule had a sonne by name Thomas Turnor which said Thomas seauerall tymes in his fathers absence, did act as Comander of the said forte and of the men guarrissoned therein, And that the said Thomas during his actings aforesaid was mayntayned, cherished & kept by his said father And further saith that John ffur Turnor another sonne to the said Paule was in the towne of wexford <u> at the storming & taking thereof by the Lord Generall Cromwells Armie, And as the deponents beleiues the said John was in Actuall Armes at that tyme for the Irish against the english in the towne & & that the said John after the storming of wexford as aforesaid, went to the forte of Duncannon then defended by the Irish against the English, where the said John Continued (as the deponent credibly heard) till he the said John was eyther killed or dyed there
