Ralph Waddington of St Johns gentleman aged sixtie foure yeares or thereabouts Deposeth concerning the said Bryan Cauanagh of Mongan Morrough gent
That the said Bryan was in actuall Armes acting & abetting the Rebellyon against the english in the first yeare of the said Rebellion, and before the tenth of Nouember 1642: & that the said Bryan was a Captaine & had the Comand of a Companie of foote souldyers for the Irish against the english wherewith (amongst others) he went to A place called Kilrush about Easter for next after the said Rebellion beganne, & then & there fought <z> against the english The Deponents cause of knowledge is for that the said Bryan suddenlie after the said battle of Kilrush, came with his said Companie of souldyers to St Johns, the place of this Deponents Residence, & there quartered, & leuyed thence & from Eniscorthy & other places, contribucion & maintenance for himselfe & his said souldiers And for that the said Bryan at his quartering there at the time aforesaid, told the Deponent that he the said Bryan & his Companie was at the battle of Kilrush fighting against the english, and further saith not &c
