The examinacion of Nicholas Staples of Ballihally gent aged thirty fiue yeares or thereabouts taken vpon oath Concerning the foresaid James Duffe of New Rosse gent deceased
vpon the whole matter of the Interrogatoryes the examinant saith that the deponent being with his land lord Collonell William Browne at Ramsgrange neere Duncannon forte vpon or about Christmas eue in the yeare 1641: did see the said James Duffe leading and Comanding a partie of men in Armes ( the certaine Number the deponent knoweth not wherewith the the said James marched to Ramsgrange <i> aforesaid to Joyne with the sherriffe and the Irish then & there assembled & as this deponent heard by credible relacion the said James brought the said men then with him from New Rosse aforesaid
