Danyell Doyle late of Knockleduffe gentleman aged sixtie years or thereabouts deposeth Concerning the said Edward Synot of Tomemactery gent that the said Edward dwelt within a mile to the deponents habitacion at the beginning of the warre where he dwelt all the time thereof Till the Lord generall Cromwells accesse to the County of Wexford at which time the said Edward came to this deponent & told him that hee was then flyeing out of them partes into the Irish quarters <f> & perswaded this deponent (as much as in him laie) to goe with him the said Edward, which the deponent refusing to doe, hee the said Edward deserted his habitacion & tooke with him his family & stocke & did not afterwardes Returne to his former residence but abode in the enemyes quarters: And further saith that the said Edward did with his two sons Dominicke & Charles Synnott Joyne with Luke Byrne of the County of Wicklow & were in Armes beseiging the Castle of Carnow, a guarrisson of the english in the County of Wickloe which after the A long
