The examinacion of Patricke Lacie of Eniscorthy yeoman aged fiftie yeares or thereabouts taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Redmond Roch of Kilbride in the Barrony of Ballaghkeen & County of wexford gent
<To the 1st Inter> The Examinant saith that the said Redmond dwelt in the Irish quarters the first yeare & the whole time of the rebellyon & from thence did not remooue into the english quarters, as <f> sundry english & protestants liuing in & neere the said barrony did: His cause of knowledge is that the deponents habitacion was in the said barrony & nigh to the said Redmonds then Residence
<To the 2d interr> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 3d & 4th inter> The deponent saith that the said Redmond did actually Contribute monyes for the Irish in order to oppose the english in the <g> first yeare of the rebellyon The cause of this deponents knowledge is in that the leuyes were soe vniuersall that he Conceiues noe person was exempted from the payment thereof especially in those partes where the said Redmond & this deponent dwelt this deponent being at that time a subcollector in parte of the said Barrony
<To the 5th inter> The deponent saith that hee hath seauerall times seen the said Redmond at diuers publicque meetings of the Irish neere the bogg of Ittai in the first yeare of the <h> Rebellyon, in order to carry on the same against the english at which meetings the publicque taxes were settled & officers appointed to leuy the same
<To the 6th inter> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 7th inter> The deponent saith that he verily beleiues the said Redmond Roch did take the oath of associacion it being a generall <i> thing & none excused from the taking thereof vnder th{e} penaltye of excommunicacion.
<To the 8th & 9th Inter> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 10th interr> The deponent saith that the said Redmond had a sonne by Name Thomas Roch who dwelt nigh to the his father and had <k> Releife and correspondency with him the said Redmond which said Thomas was one of the High Constables in the said Barrony of Ballaghkeen the first yeare of the Rebellyon

& sent forth warrants about seauen or eight yeares sithence To this deponent & others vnder his the said Thomas his hand directed Requiring them to leuy the sums mencioned in the said warrants & for paying the same <l> over to him the said Thomas Roch which this deponent in persuance of the said warrant did and paid the said monyes by him this deponent soe leuyed to the said Thomas Roch for the maintenance of the Irish Armie against the english
