The Examinacion of Edward Synnot of Roslare yeoman aged about fortie foure yeares taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning the said william Hore of Harperstowne in the County of wexford esquire
<The examinant> vpon the whole matter of the Interrogatoryes deposeth & saith that this deponent being serjeant to Captain Thomas Rosceter of Rathmacknee at the seige of Duncannon in the moneth of July after the rebellyon brake forth in the yeare 1642: At which time the examinant did see the said william Hore in Actuall Armes amongst the Irish then beseiging the said forte of Duncannon And further saith that vpon the twentieth daie of July in the said yeare 1642: there being some shooting hear d <g> between a party out of the forte of Duncannon & the people at Remondshall this examinant was present and did heare the said william Hore to vtter theese wordes to the said Irish partie vizt This is our neighbour Redmond that is in distresse: It is or that the english were setting vpon, It is fitting wee should help our neighbour whereuppon the said Hore & the Irish partie marched togeather towardes Redmondshall, & then & there the said Irish partie fell vpon the english at & about Remondshall & killed of them to about the Number of one hundred, & tooke one Lieutenant Esmond & about fourteen of the of the english partie prissoners, which were afterwardes hanged, And further saith that at the time aforesaid the deponent did see the said sonne of the said william Namely Anthony Hore in actuall Armes & on horse backe among the Irish before & after the killing <h> & further saith that the deponent did see the said Anthony to haue and weare the sword of Captain Aston, the Comander of that english partie soe killed as aforesaid And further Canot depose, onely that the deponent did not know or euer heard of any Comand or office millitary that the said william or Anthony had at that time, & further saith not &c
