Examinacions taken vppon oath before vs the vndernamed the 27th of August 1652 touchinge the murthers made in Cashell the first of January 1651.
<1)> Richard ô ffyne of Cashell aforesaid aged 30. yeares or there abouts beinge deposeth vppon oath that he was within in his Masters house at Cashell at the time when Phillipp <A> ô Dwyer with his forces came into the Towne, but sayeth that he k[ ] tooke away noe notice of the murthered men or of the plunder then donne onely he saw, at his goeinge abrode to visitt his Master cattle beinge his sheaperd, one William mc Phillipp ô Dwyer murtheringe Thomas Charleton. And further sayeth not.
<2)> John Kelly of Cashell aforesaid aged about 50 yeares deposeth vppon oath that he was present when ffrances <B> Bannister was killed murthered, but knoweth not who was the actor thereof beinge soe manny in number, but sayeth <Phillip mcThomas Dwyer> that one Phillipp mc Thomas ô Dwyers gott was in the number and gott his monyes. And sayeth that he saw another murthered at that time without the gates. And further sayeth not.
<3)> Thomas Reddie of Cashell aforesaid aged 88. yeares or thereabouts deposeth vppon oath that he was in the streete when Phillipp ô Dwyer did leade in the streete of Cashell aforesaid a great manny Armed men & when <C> he gaue them orders to pillage & plounder all the English at And further sayeth that Theobald Butler of Killoskehane was there Charles ô Dwyer of Cul Cammus Donnogh ô Dwyer Jo brother vnto the said Phillipp & John ô Dwyer of Knockgormane & Vllick Boorke of <Vllick Bourke> Lyslowryne was th were there, And have did see William Moone handled by the said Boorke treathninge to hange him. And further sayeth not.

4) Andrew Hackett of Cashell aforesaid aged about 30 yeares or thereabouts deposeth vppon oath that he <D> Knew Phillipp ô Dwyer to be cheefe in commaund when the English were murthered in Cashell aforesaid togither with Thobald Butler of Killoskehane, Teige Meagher of Clonnakeaney, Richard Butler of Ballynakelly. Donnogh ô Dwyer brother vnto the said Phillip, Charles ô Dwyer of Cammus, John ô Dwyer of Knockeballygormane. And sayeth that Charles ô Dwyer tooke away Deane Howletts his goods. And further sayeth not that he saw Vllicke Boorke of Lyslowryne & Bryen Keanes of Ballibege verry actiue & busie at that time. And further sayeth not.
<5)> James Reddie of Cashell aforesaid aged about 40 yeares <E> depo eth agreeth in all poynts with the aboue Informer <symbol> And further sayeth not, onely sayeth that he heard one Richard Boorke of Cashell aforesaid deceased tell him say that <Ullick Bourke> Vllicke Boorke of Lystlowryne handled William Moone for to hange him in an Orchard, And sayeth that he <Hugh mc Phillip Rian> heard that Hugh mc Phillipp Ryan tooke was one of the greatest murtherers that haue been was heere at that time, And sayeth <Edmond Purcell> that one Edmond Purcell of Ardmaile was verry busie & actiue about the plounderinge of the English.
<6)> Melloghlen Carrane of Cashell aforesaid aged 4 yeares or there abouts beinge sworne vppon the holly Evangelist <ff> sayeth that He [ ] did see [ ] one Knoghor mc Shane of Podevarly verry actiue and busey in carryinge & driueinge horses & garrans out of the litt Cashell aforesaid, and further sayeth not.
<7)> Honora ny John of Cashell aged 40. yeares or thereabouts deposeth that shee have did seen one Derby Ruo of Laggane showne carryinge away a coopboord . 3 . chayres togither with seuerall other houshould stuffe togither with others in his company beinge . 3 three horse loades. And further sayeth not, onely sayeth that the goods belonged vnto Doctor Pullen, & [ ] were caryed out of Doctor Haly his house

<8)> Piers Hackett of Cashell aforesaid aged about 30 yeares beinge sworne vppon the holly Evangelist, sayeth that he <H> was in Cashell aforesaid when Phillipp ô Dwyer of Dundrome togither with his brother Donnogh ô Dwyer, Theobald Butler of Kiloskehane, Richard Butler of Bally [ ]kelly Teige ô Meagher of Clonnakeaney, came with seuerall others vnder their commaund which haue been b verry actiue & busey about the plounderringe of the English beinge and as he remembers one Teige ô Dwyer Ryan of Loghdwehey alias nasteale, Bryen Kearney of Ball Ballybegg Vllicke Boorke, & seuerall others which whose names this deponent doe not well remember, And further sayeth that he heard that one James Rooch haue been of Griftin e stowne was one of the cheefest actors for murderinge the English at that time And further sayeth not
<9)> Dauid Boorke of Cashell aforesaid aged about 30. yeares deposeth that he was present when Thomas Sadler & Raph Carr were murthered & that Knogher fitz John Ryan <J> of Poulevarly & William mc Phillipp of Ardmaile were the actors of their the said Thomas & Raphs death And further sayeth not.
<10)> Catheryne spallane of Cashell aforesaid aged about 30. yeares deposeth that shee haue been was present when one Edmond fitz William ô Dwyer of Knockegormane, was <K> carryinge away out of Mr William Kearney his house one b ro hockesed of [shald] salt meate & a barrrel of meale oaten meale of Doctor Pullinyes goods, & one John Conwey deceased a Jesuite meeteinge him tould that it was vnmette for him to plounder the poore English theire goods after beinge murthered themselues about a sennight before, vppon which woords the said Dwyer gaue the Jesuite a cuffe. And further sayeth not

<11)> Elline Dulyne of Cashell aforesaid aged about 30 <L> yeares deposeth that shee haue did see [ ] one Hugh mc Phillip of Clonoulty plounderinge of William Moores house & very actiue about the same businese. And further sayeth not

<13)> Mary Wyse: Allias Watson liuin Liuing then with Her Husband Wyse in Balleonee adged: about 49 <Se the Exam: of David Powell, & William Moore> yeres Soarne and Examined as folloeth sayeth that in the first yeeres yere of the Rebellion Hur Husband John Wyse being Intrusted per Will: Kingsmell Esquire to take Chardge of [ ] His Castell Lands and goods of the foarsaied place & one Morning Hee going forth about His Ocationes that one Melaughline Gow <N> Shot the sayd Wyse and He died. the sayed Gow and Many others was Comanded per Edmond per Moackler of Ballenatten after wards the sayed Moakler Brought to the foarsaied place. A Wayne and Loaded away all such goo goo Housald goods and prouitiones as Twelue Beeues Salted and Twentie Muttones and two or Three Huches of Corne and alsoe a parsell of Wooll of the foaresaid Mr Kingsmells which wooll was C arryed away per was vallewed att a Hundred pounds Carryed away per the sayed Moackler and the Lord of Donboyne further sayeth that Dauy powell and one William Moare is able to Discouer More being thire alsoe saueth that Rick Richard Coming of Tulloughmaine was in the Company of the foarsayd Moackler and farther sayth Not
