The Examinacion of Margrett Samson with of wife of Thomas Samson of Ineshonan taken the 15th of September 1652
<Sayeth> That in the first summer after the beginning of the warres she then liveing within a mile of Mr Thomas Linchcomes of Garymore in the Barony of Ibane with her husband Thomas Samsons. This Examinantt sayeth That her husband with her selfe <A> & three children, was Commanded by William Oge Ohay to come to Mr. Linchcomes house (who whas formerly her Master) The reason was (as this Examinatt conceiueth) that he Comannded them thither was that because he would haue the English together, that none of them should make an escape by running away: And this Examinatt further sayeth, That (as she the foresaid William Oge Ohey & all his family came & lived in the said Linchcom’s house, and that (as shee best remembreth) they continued there aboute 5 or 6 weeks, And Much about which tyme her Master Thomas Linchcome, with his wife & sister in Lawe and a man servantt whose name was John & a Maide servantt whose name was Mary were (together with this Examinatt & her husband & Children) removed to a little village called muckrush, about a quarter of a myle from the foremencioned place: And Linchcome with his wife & his ffamily was put into one Cabbyn & this Examinant & her husband & their 3 Children into another: And this Examinant being demanded who carryed them into that village, she answereth, that shee doth not remember that any one went with them, but onely they were Commanded by the foresaid <B> O hay to goe thither & they durst not but obey: And this examinant further sayeth, that that evening shee saw William oge o Hay with John Roe Ryne a Myller that lived somwhere in the Lest west & some others whose names shee knowes not that had taken the said Linchcome & his wife hes sister in Lawes & his man & maide & carried them about Muskett shott from the Cabbyn where formerly they had put them & there hanged Linchcome & his sister in Lawe that night. And this examinantt further sayeth that there was present at the hanging of the Linchcomes daniel Sarcina & Cormacke Sarcina & dearmond Bawlie then of Muskris: And this examinantt further sayeth that the next day the foresaid Linchcomes wife and her man John & her maide Mary were sent with a convoy

away by William Oge O Hay towards Tymaleage Bridge, & soe <C> for kilbrittaine or Bandon and that (as this Examinantt heard it generally reported in the Country) they were all three Murthered by the way And this Examinantt further sayeth the foremencioned John Roe Ryne was sent to be one of the Convoy, & that it was one dearmond Oge O doe a Broagemaker th And dominicke Skiddy of Tymoleage that Murthered them: And further sayeth not
