The Examination off Dawe Reagh Goggin Aged 60 years Liwing att Ballyadan in the Barony of Kyerycury
saith Thatt Abowtt October 1642 he Liued in the Barony off Muskree but was noe soldier butt gott whatt hee Cold of the Contry for his Liuly hood and Thatt hee with others gott Intiligencs That ther was oattmeall made att ffowntains Town mill; and Comige thither They foud their one Robert Carter;and denis Murphey; and A maid named mary gille{ } <A> which They Tooke and Caried all Away vp to A wood Calld Aghmartene; whear they deuided the said three persons Robt Carter and the maide was Caried A way by Edmond mc Owen and Edmond Cumin; will o mackCawrooll; Jeames O Henis; and dawy oge gogin; and I Denis Murphey was Left with This Examinatt whill the Aforesaid Person{s} had Hanged the said Robert Carter and the maid; and the Cause off his knoledg is Thatt when they they Came Back to this Examinantt They Told hime they had hanged them; and prepared to hang the said Denis Murphej which was Left with this Examinatt; and did putt A roap Aboutt his necke to thatt purpos; butt Thatt this Examinatt did very Ernestly persuaid them To the Contrary promising Thatt if they wold giwe hime his Life he wold Bring vnto them his Master Pray off Cattle; This Examinantt att Inga{g}ing for him; and this Examinantt saith hee hard the Afore named persons say An Hundred times They had hanged them and further saith nott.
