The Examination off Will Reah o Regan aged fifty six years. Being duly sworn and Examined saith
<Sept 28 1652>Thatt att the first year of the wars hee Liued att Clantik Iland within A mill off Castle Hauen and thatt the Inhabintants Ther Abowtt Cept together in Arms vpon the topp of A hill to Ceep in the garison of Castle hauen and one Jo mcTeig alias McTeig was ther Captain and this Examinatt was one of his Souldiers and being one misty day being vpon the sentry <A> with one Teig og mcTeag mcdaniell and one more which is since dead to watch the way thatt Lead to Castle hauen that none shold goe In or owtt or vnless it wear A Conuay or any Thatt wear Conueid and as they wear vpon the Sentry they hard A Cry and wee three thatt wear att Sentry run to see what itt was and Coming so the highway that Leds to Castle hauen This Examinatt saw This Jo fford runing after som other men made vp towards them, and seing this Examinantt and felowes runing to them. This fford Turned back to run to the Castle and this Examinatt being betwen him and the Castle mette with him hauing A have pike in this Examinatts hand run att him with all his might at which hee did nott ffall and then this Examinantt <B> seeing Teig mcog haue A sword draw itt forth and mad A thrust att the said ford Abutt his Brest att which hee fell doune and ther this Examinatt and his felows Left him and run A way fering some of the garison shold Com owtt Against them They nott Knowing whatt man hee was butt the next They hard itt was one Thatt was to bee Convoyd to the Garison
