308A note of such losses as William Ragg late of the parish of Vrnie within the Baronie of Loughtie in the Countie of Cauan yeoman susteyned by the Rebells sworne saith That about the 24th of October last 1641 he was robbd and dispoiled of his goods & chattells to the values hereafter expressed
Imprimis hee held one farme called Enishmore within the parish of Vrnie aforesaid (wherein himself cohabited) one which farme hee had the particuler goodes followinge vzt: 23: english milch cowes worth 60 li. ster one bull worth 6 li__6 s.__8 d. two mares & one horse worth 16 li. 30 sheepe worth 6 li. & seaueteene swine worth 6 li. sterling All which goods were take from him by <a> Hugh o Relie of Enismore aforesaid this deponents owne servant Owen O Relie of Clowater Castle in the said County gentleman Turlogh mc Gathan of nere Clowater gentleman
< & Edmund Roike late of Vrnaigh> & Phillipp mc Gathan of the same gentleman John Sherryden brother to Mr Sheridan the <minister> with diuers others hee alsoe had on the said farme 80: barrells of wheate beare & smale barlie worth 80 li. sterling 100 barrells of oates worth 25 li: 12 barrell of Beanes worth 10 li. ster fiue stacks of hay worth 13 li.__13 s.__4 d.: howshould stuffe worth 20 li. ster in butter worth 8 li. ster in monie 4 li. ster in bonds & bills 45li. ster the lease of the land worth 40li. ster Itm h ee And this deponent also held one other farme within the parish of Castle Terragh called Butlersbridge wherein hee had grasinge 19 English milch cowes worth 50 li. ster 21: English heifers worth 31 li.__10 s. ster 4: colts & one mare worth 10 li. ster fiue stacks of hay worth 10 li. besids the lease of the land worth 30 li. ster which goods were terribly taken from him as one Thomas Bradie an I rish man but a minister and other neighbours thereabouts Soe it appeareth the And that this deponents whole losses as amounteth vnto the some of foure hundred seavetie and one pownds ten shilling ster All w hich the said William [ ] Beesids himselfe his wife & fiue Children were stripped naked And further saith that the Rebells aforesaid sayd they might have his goods to the campe for the kings vse, & that they had the kinges Com{mission} for what they did, And that the Rebells aforesaid about the same tyme robbed and stript Anthony Sturtevant Walter Parson William Castleton & all the rest of the protestants thereabouts of theer goods
