Giles Marsh of Kinsale Belgooly Neere Kinsale Aged about 53 yeares beinge Sworne & Examined saith that hee Liuinge att Bellgoo{ly} in the yeare 41 that hee Knew the afforesaid Gookan Liuinge att BallinACourt afforesaid in the yeare 41
<1)> That hee might haue Remoued to Kinsale as diuers English of his Neighbours did
<2)> That hee Remoued into Muskrey itt beinge farther into the Irish Quarters and Continued [ ] forth untill the {yeare of Cessacion}
<5)> That hee was att publique and priuate Meetings with the Eneimy att Bellgooly before Soogane Came
<11)> That there was of English Liuinge Neere the afforesaid Bellgooly Mrs Hum now Liuinge att Clog{h?}dooane int the Barrony of Kinalea Phillip Cooke he{r} brother Liuinge now with her Arington Hum her Sonne Now in the ArmyThat The Cause of this deponent Knowledge is that as hee was goinge from Kinsale to Bellgooly to { } for her Cattle hee was betraid by By Daui{id} Mallifant and 3 of James 3 of James Mallifants Son{s} Brother to the said Dauid and was taken Prisoner by William oge Mallifant Brother to the afforesaid James Mallifant the day before Captaine Soogane came th{ere} and there hee saw John Longe and Barrye oge a{nd} most of the Gentlemen of the Country for there names this deponent doth not well Remember and was Kept prisoner there 48 yeares howers but was helpt away by An Irish Neighbour of his and farther saith not
