The Informormacon of William Weekes yeoman against John Lacy of Broff gentleman
Whereas John Lacy of Broff in the yeare 1641 Comanded his tennants and seruants in Armes to martch with him <A> to the hill of Beyonde ballingollogh whoe which pretended to preuente the English from of Loghgeir from Burninge Broff, dureing which tyme his beinge there, he had notice giuen [ ] him by some of his partie, that it was A speciall Costome with the English of Loghgeir, to be at grange wherevpon his sonne John Lacy the younger intertained the motion, with one Brine mc Gragh son in law to John Lacy the Elder and desired Mr Lacy to giue them Leaue to goe with A partie to the said grange, the said John Lacy the Elder replied that he was doutefull some of the English of Loghgeir would Com vpon there Backes by but they Replied if he would prou stay with his partie there vppon the hill vntill they returned there was noe danger, Wherevpon he ordred them to goe <with a partie> to the said grange where they tooke one Gregorie Thorne and Gullipatrick <B> o durane, being both of Loghgeir, Mortogh o Brine beinge one of the partie After Gullipatricke or durane was taken made inquirue after his goods whoe found onely A Cowe and an Earlin and the same droue with him to Broff and possesed the same, alsoe he was att the Broff at the Executeing of the said Gregorie and Gullipatricke, all this is proued by John o Mohir [ ] John o hourigane and Margrett mc Cragh wife to the said Gullipatricke, alsoe this Mortagh o Brine after beinge aprehended and broughte to Limericke di s and <C> haueing some discourse with one of John Lacys the elder seruants this Mortogh mc Brine desired the said John o Moher to Complie with him and to be in one tale as they weare at Loghgeir but John o moher replied he would tell the truth aL this is vpon oath Likewise the said John o Collane was with John Lacy the elder at that time vpon the hill be being then sargente vnto the said John Lacy the elder and Likewise alsoe was at the Executeinge of them at Broff with Phillip o Collane, John o Collane his Brother wit, and many others, which

Phillip o Cullane being then John Lacys Petty Constable of Broff Commanded the garde which hanged them the said Greagorie Thorne and Gullipatrcike this is Likewise vpon oath by proued by John o Mogher and Donnagh mc Quouth vpon oath this all this I atteste vnder my hand [ ] Limericke Nouember the Eleauenth 1652
