Hugh Browdy of Athlone Aged 37 yeares being duely examined & sworne, sayth that the Lord Dillon caused John stibbs & George Dillon to bee committed unto the Dungeon in At hlone castle & that they were within three dayes (as hee remembers) after executed, & that dillon becaus e hee was one Irishman was the sayd & the sayd [ ] Stibbs & dillon were <A> to hang upon the Gallowes but from ten of the clocke till one, That hee saw Dillons wyfe with a child in her armes come uppe, the stayres in the Castle, & stood on being on the pavement going as shee sayd to the Lord Dillons Lady, to begge her husbands lyfe, but Mr Dexter, bid her goe downe againe for shee should not goe to my Lady, & further sayth that he Sir James Dillons Lady came to begge the sayd dillons Lyfe but could not prevayle. And further sayth that the sayd stibbs, told this examinate (who called him Gossippe) upon his salvatione, that hee never intended any harme unto the Lord Dillon his lady or any of the servaunts, bu And that there was nothing in his letter, but ex c commendations to his sonne in law, & that the lord, & Sir James Dillon were going to Galway for some of the duke of Lorraines money, And further sayth that about ten of the clocke in the morning stibbes & dillon were hanged

<A> hanged, And that hee is sure the Lady ffrancis Dillon dined that day and as hee thinkes Sir Walter Doungan & Sir Robert Talbot with her, And sayth that the wyfe of the sayd George dillon told this examinate that the sayd lady ffrancis dillon, sayd that shee would neither eate nor drincke till stibbes & dillon her husband were put to death.
