<January the 20th 1652> The Examinacion of the Widdow of Brian Rows wife concerneing the surprisall of Captain <A> Clarkes ship
Saith that her husband went aboard att the Surprisall of Captain Clarkes ship, being demanded and that att first hee refused to goe vpon the designe where vpon hee was by the Major Tho: Linch fits Andrew & Dominick Keruine and Stephen Linch fits Andrew kept prisoner in thomas Linches howse all night, where they were consulting about the businesse, who promised this Examinants husband with the rest of the boatemen, after the Surprisall of the said ship, to giue them Twenty pounds for their paynes, And that her husband vpon his death bed, tould her, that James Oge Linch did <B> ingage for the payment of the monyes, the Said widdow goeing then to demand the monyes, the said James Oge Linch did refuse to pay her, w saying that hee had nothing to doe with it, and if that shee could finde out any of Dominick Keruine Goods, hee would cause Sattisfaccion to be made to her out of that, and then the said Linch thretned her, that if shee troubled him any further about it, hee would [ la ? ] her by the heeles [oeder ? ] her.
And further saith that imediately after the Surrender of this Towne to the parliament within one Moneth the Examinant Intending to Prefer a petition to <C> the Commissioners against the said James Linch about the said 20 pounds but the said James Linch hearing off it sent his brother John Linch to the Examinant Desiering her to be patient for a time till John Martine fitz
