The Examinacion of Edmund Lino of CloneLagh in the Barony of Longford in the County of <A> Gallway; taken before us whose names are underwritten this 6th of May 1653
Sayeth That about harvest last was a tweluemonth this Examinant was upon a party of Irish betwixt Balinslow & Beagh, where the ensiggne Ensigne of the said party tooke two horsemen, & this Examinant pursued a third horseman that had escaped to the gate of the Castle Beagh, That this Examinant being in pursuit as aforesaid the said Ensigne was turned off another way with his party & the 2 prisoners <B> aforesaid, & that before this Examinant could recover his this Examinants party; there were a got a party of Capt Olivers horse that were got between him this Examinant & his party, so that he never recoverd the said party till about 24 houres after; This Examinant further sayeth that the next day when this Examinant came up unto his party, hee this Examinant asked the Ensigne what the 2 horsemen had said; And the Ensigne answered that they were killed; This Examinant further asked for what cause; And the Ensigne said the Enemy pursued them so hotly that they feared they could not carry them off, & therfore they killed them: he further saieth the said Ensignes Name was Fardorohogh Roe รด Kally; This Examinant further sayeth that he demanded a share of the armes of the said 2 horsemen killed; And that the Ensigne denyed this Examinant his share of the same: And further sayeth not;
