<May 25o 1653> The Examination of Redmund Burk taken as a{bove}
Saith he was seruant to Collonel Edmund Flaherty; and was with him a{t} the seidg of Trumcoe Castle, where Mr Wade an English man liue{d} and that hat the said Collonel with his Company came thither on sunday m{ } with intention as this Examinant vnderstood; to get Quarter for him and his men; and saith he heard by Comon report that the Collonel sen{t} <B> a man to the said Ward ; intimateing, that he was not of a minde to doe him any harme, and further saith he alsoe heard that the said Colonel Comaunded a Centinell to stand before the Castle; which when the said Mr Wade perceiued, he shott at them; and threwe stones by which some of his men were wounded; and further saith that Mr Wades seacond son with and his wife came out of the Castle vppon Quarter but none of the rest did, and further saith that Mr Wades Eldest sonn comeing out was Killed and alsoe that Mr Wade and his wife were Killed slained, but what became of the rest was he Knoweth not.

and after they tooke the said Castle, they came to strawe Island where they deuided the plunder, but this Examinant had none of it, neither had he any minde to take any of the said plunder, and saith he was in protection when he was taken and came further saith not,
