Martin Lynch Esquire Major of Gallway being sworne and Exam{i}ned before vs sayeth
To the ffirst Intergatory that he knoweth Robert Clarke bro{u}ght a ship in the yeare 1641 from Rochell of which he the said Clarke was master and {t}hat the said ship was loaden with salt and had likewise a smale quant{ity} of armes and amunicion and that the merchants of the said ship were Tho: Lynch & Gregory Browne & Dom: Kirwan as he conceiueth was both ffactor and Merchant, And ffurther sayeth that he conceiueth the armes and amunicion were brought vppon Accoumpt of the said Merchts.

To the second Interg: he sayeth that the said armes and Amunicion was indeauored to be seized vppon and brought into the fort neere gallway by the Gouernor thereof or the officers of the Custome howse or John Turner; who was then Clarke of the store, by whether of them he knoweth not, & by what particuler warrant he knoweth not.
To the third Interg: he sayeth that he heard that Robert Clarke master of the said <D> ship was committed by the major & councell of the towne, but how long he was in prison he knoweth not nor when he was released; being then out of towne.
To the ffourth he sayeth not because of his absence
To the ffiueth Interg: he sayeth that he heard that Dom: Kirwan steph Lynch & Thomas Martin with Andrew Lynch & divers boatemen that went vnder culler to bring salt a shore from the said ship, and by direccions as he conceiueth; and hath heard principally Sir Valentine Blake & some of the Councell of Eight whose names he doth not know; he further sayeth that the said ship was surprised; and that one or two was killed aboard the said ship; whose names he knowes not
To the sixt Interg: he sayeth that he hath seene some {ordn}ance that did belong to the ship planted vppon the walls of { }d taken ffrom the said ship as he conceiueth by a maior vote { } <C> ffurther sayeth that the Councell of Eight and the mai{or} did order the planting of the said ordnance who had { } and were by name Sir Thomas Blake Sir Dom: Brow{ } John Blake John Blake now recorder: Sir Ro: Lynch { } Alderman ffrancis Blake; and further sayeth; that { } Patrick Darcy was against the surprisall of the sai{d } remember the Condicion of his body at that time; this { }
To the seauenth Interg he sayeth as also to the Eight{ } the o fflahertyes & Irish in Irconnaught in a hostile { } that they came in by order of some of the Councell of { } heard; & further sayeth that they brought provision { } towne and when that was spent, the towne mayneteyne{ } charge with money and provision; and ffurther sayeth { } of their stay in the said towne they murdered some person{ } one fox & his wife & Child & that the Person that Comitted { } executed by mr Richard Martins order who was then cheife { } sayeth that their comming to towne was to beseidge the fort { } { } best of his remembrance; { } was then an Inhabitant in the towne, and veryly bet{ } to the maynetenance of the said Irish as the rest of { }
