<A> The Examinacion of Dauid Bourk of Macarre now in restraynt concerning the Murther of Shrewle
Sayth That He was not in Shrewle that day that the Murther was committed, nor had any hand directly or indirectly in the same, but that he was part of the day at Macarre and part at Ballycurren which he can produce seuerall to testify, And further sayth that he knew not any that had a hand in that Murther saue that one Joye sonne to Thomas Joye mcEdmond of Joyes Country came into a House where the Examinant was drinkeing betweene Ballycurren and Ballyshrahyny, and after he had drinck said That he had deserued it for that he had knockt as many of the English in the head as he wuld and that he had killd an English woman betweene Shrewle & Kilmanaah, and lett two Children out of her Belly, but where the said Joy now is he knoweth not, for that he presently went away, and that he hath not seene him these fowre yeares at which tyme he was a soldier in morragh ne doo O fflagherties Company, And further sayth not
