The examinacion of William Kelly of Boyle taken before vs this 23th day of June 1653
Sayeth that Edmund Burke of Rappa gave order to Richard Burke a fryer his brother to convey & goe with this Examinat & three others being servants to the said Edmund to convoy Mr Walker Jo: Darsey woo d & two English woemen, whether Richard Burke the ffryer would have them to goe who went with them to one Jordaines house at Monyconellan in the County of Mayo & theire gave charge to this examinat & the other three to convoy them to one Hugh o Haras house at Gurtishine & there to leave them & then to returne back And before they were gonn halfe a myle the said Jordans sonne being by name John reagh McJordan & John Boy McEndeshe with aboute a dozen more of Jordans tenants overtooke them and killed them the two men. & the convoy went with the two woemen to O Haras house and lefte them there & then returned back to Jordans O Haras house but the ffryer was gonn before they came.
