[4276] 4181The examination of Bryan O Donnelly aged about fyftie six yeres taken the 6th May 1653.
This Examinat sayeth, that att the beginning of the Rebellion he dwelt neere Dundalke, and afterward came to the places neere Benburb seeking after some Cattle which had been taken from his followers. That Sir Phelemy O Neille did giue him an order to take his cattle where he could finde them; That he this Examinat, did finde about fourty of his cattle in those parts. That afterward Sir Phelemy O Neille {late} imprison: this examinat, and threatened to kill him, if he would not {rise} <D> in armes as others did which he this Examinant sayeth he did not B{ut} afterwards did keep his owne tenants about him with pykes and f{} and such kynd of weapons as they could gett to preserue them se{lues} and their cattle.
He this examinat confesseth he did liue about two weekes in Jo{hn} Allens house neere Benburb, which he sayes he found empty, And tha{t} that tyme he heard say, that the sayd Allen had been killed by {} of the Hewes. And further sayeth not.
