The Examinacion of Margarett Cesar widdowe taken the 26th day of Aprill 1653
The said Margarett Cesar aged 48 yeares or thereabouts being duly sworne & examined <A> by vertue of her oath saieth That about New yeares day next after the begining of the Rebellion Patricke McHenry Bane Birne now prisoner at Dundalke and about five other Rebe{lls} came into this deponent howse in CarrickmcRosse where shee and Mr William Williams and his neig{hbour} Mr Boyle a Minister and his wife Mr Jones & his wife & Gabriell Williams Anthony Atkinson & Thomas Trun were and the said Patricke and his Companion, in the sight of this Examinante pinioned the said William Williams & Anthony Atkinson together and carryed them into a Burne of the said howse and afterwards, fetched Gabrie Patricke Hogen <B> one of the said Rebells fetched Gabriell Williams in the said Burne and there the said William Williams Anthony Atkinson &

Gabriell Williams and one Thomas Trent & one Mr Jones were hanged <C> the cause of her knowedg that they were hanged is That shee the Examinant went the next day to Patrick Mc fitzEdmond McMahon that was then a Marshall in the Towne to gett leave to bury the said seuerall Corps in the Church or Churchyard but could not obetyne it but saieth they were buryed in her this Examinants Garden Ditch by her servants And this deponent further saieth That <BA> the said Patricke McHenry Bane lately in descourse between him & <D> this Examinante confessed That hee did hang the said William Williams but saied hee did it by order from Patrick McEdmond McMahon the Marshall and Owen O Murphy And Entreated this Examinante to labor with Mrs Williams not to prosecute him And further saieth not
