The second Examinacion of Gregorye Croke of Drogheda gent taken the 23th day of Aprill 1653
The said Gregorye Crooke aged 28 yeares or thereabout beinge duly sworne and examined by vertue of his oath saieth That hee heard Elizabeth Parker wife of Tho Livinge at Ballarush neare Eniskeane in the Countye of Monaghan at the begininge of the Rebellion did then and there seene Ardell Baddie mc Mahon and Brian mc Mahon both then livinge in Eniskeane aforesaid and other Rebells in theire Companye to to the number of tenne or twelve seize vpon & take Thomas Parker an Englishman and a Protestant out of his howse at Ballarush aforesaid and binde him the said Thomas with a Rope Roape and carrye him soe bounde as a Prisoner to Eniskeane aforesaid And that Elizabeth Parker wife to the said Thomas The same day within few howres after the said Thomas was taken & Carryed prisoner as aforesaid Did declare in the hearinge

and presence of this deponent and seuerall others That the said Ardell and Brian and the rest had then murthered her said husband And after they had shott and wounded him before hee was fully dead dragged him to Ditch and buryed him alive in a ditch by throwinge Earth vpon him and as the Earth and Mould lay vpon him the said her said husband Called to her to take the mould from of his mouth for that it would choake him And further saith not
