The Examinacion of Elizabeth Williams widdow taken the 26th day of Aprill 1653
The said Elizabeth Williams aged 48 yeares or thereabouts being duly sworne & examined by vertue of his oath saieth That shee the Examinante and her then husband William Williams living about Christmas next after at the begining of the Rebellion at in the castle of Carricke mc Roste in the County of Monaghan Patricke mc He were taken <A> prisoners by Collo mc Brian mc Mahon and by him deteyned there as prisoners for the space of three or fowre dayes and then were taken out of the said Castle and carryed as prisoners to the howse of the widdowe Cesar in the towne of CarrickfergusmcRost e and there were kept as prisoners by the space of eleauen weeks and at the end of that tyme <B> Patricke mc Henry Bane Birne now prisoner at Dundalke at or about new yeares day with about

a dozen more Irish Rebells Entred onto the said widdow Cesars howse and hee <C> this Patricke by the Collor of his Dublett having a naked skeane in one of his hands tooke her husband with the other hand by the Collor and demanded his money and therevpon tooke his hatt & band from him and putt them on himself and pinioned him with a with and carryed him out in the s ight of the Examinante & afterwards as shee heard carryed him out of the said dwelling howse into a Barne [ ] [ ] in the sight of this Examinante And then shutting the Doares that Barne the said Patricke and the other Rebells his assistants hanged her said husband and seuerall other English that were taken prisoners as shee was presently after tould by Anne Brady & Patricke Connelly whoe as they saied helped to bury him And shee the Examinante being then great with child and neare her deliuerye with the fright of the violence donne to her
