The Examinacion of James Sym Aged about 34 yeares taken the 19o May 1653
Whoe being deposed
saith that at the begining of the Rebellion hee Livd in Ardmagh & Continewed there in prisson tell may ffollowing by Vrder from Turlo oge ô Neile Sir Phillimyes Brother, But at the Cominge of Generall Maior Montroe to the Nury the Towne of Ardmah was sett on fire by Turlo oge ô Neiles men at which time <A> this Examinate did make an escape from thence, And went of to the Nury, But in the time of his Imprissonment hee heard of many Crewell Murders Committed As one William Smyth willson a Smith, & william Aylett a Taylor as allso William Ayletts Mother, whoe was with one more, which this Examinate cannot remembr, taken out in to the streete of Ardmah & there murderred, but by whom this Examinat{e} did not heere, many others murders were Comitted Murderred whilst this Examinate was prissoner, As James Rowen, Tho: Sadler & his wife, with many others which this Examinate cannot now remembr nor by whom they were murderred And further sath not

being a report of some
Murders Comitted in the County
of Ardmah, but by whom hee
knowes not.
These are to require
