Captain Valentine Blacker saith
That Edmond boy mc Glasney Magennisse of Clanconell dead, and Artt oge mc Glasney Magennisse dead of the same, getherd the men in Clanconell and went to burne Downe=Patricke Dromore, and Lurgan, as they themselues confest they had <A> donn at there returne to this Informant being then their prissoner
Toole mc Macan and Toole mc Rory mc Cann gathered the Irish in Clancan and Clanbrassell and went to burne Lurgan, and when they returnd they bragd that they had burnt it in this Informants hearing who also saw them goeing thither the said Toole mc Makan comaunding them & marching before them & T oole mc Rory mc Can as lieut & pu shing the m on that were slack agoeing
ffor the Murther that was Comitted at Portadowne after the Inglish was drownd ther, Elizabeth Simons Sara, Hobkins whoe liues at Charlemont, and Anthonie <B> Workman who liues with Nicholas Williams at Killeleagh can witnes that Toole mc Macan was the Author of it as I haue heard,
There was one william Montgomry hangd at Bellenagarye by the men of Clanconell but whoe did it I knowe not
That ffrances the wife of mr John St Johns was present when Mr Charles Parkins, was taken away from mrs St Johns and the rest of the Companie, and after murtherd by the Irish in Kilvltagh as I heard as also Mrs Heywood & Mrs ffranklin & both with Childe & diuers others were then murderd:
Hee further saith that whilest he was prissonner with the Irish he saw a warrant of Execution under Sir Phill: O <C> Neills hand (whose hand he knowes very well, for the murdering of putting of the English to death in those partes about Clancan & Clanbrassell which was sent to Toole mc McCans han in whose hand he saw the said warrant & soe he ventured & escaped away the next night & about 2 or 3 dayes the great murder was done vpon the English at portadowne
