The Examinatione and depositione of Donnell mc Lester of {Castle} reagh in the Cownty of Downe taken before me this 20th May 165{3} who beinge sworne saith
That on a sunday after the warr began abowte the latter end of december in the fi{rst} yeare of the warr, he amongst many more ridd out with Mr Jo: Edmonstone to see { } the enemy did approach, who weare then saide to be drawinge neare to Lam{ } this deponent went he saw Patrick o Tolane comeing [ ] from his howse and { } towards Donell Ores howse, but beefore he gott thither he was slayne & within less then halfe { } b{ } this deponent knoweth not, onlye he saw three or foure men standinge abowte { } whom was Andrew English with a sword & a pitchforke, and the said Pa{trick} { } & bleedinge but was past speech & more saith not
