The Examination of John Tennent of lecale taken the 3 May 1653
Who being (as he sayeth) about fyftye and foure yeeres of age; Sayeth that Christopher Bateman that was taken in the pace of Dundrum by Bryan Mackelhinny and other re some other Rebells, was this Examinats <A> partner, that he caryed out the money for the ransome of the cattle viz 28 : lib and not being able to agree with them for the ransome of the prsionners persons att the first he left them for that tyme and heard that the sayd Rebells did hang them up the prisonners to make them Vndertake for paying more money And that at last was payed to the sayd Rebells thirtye lib: for bateman and 18: lib: for Thomas Paceley
This Examinat further sayeth, that the sayd Bryan Mackelhinny since he came into the quarters did seuerall tymes acknowledge to him the sayd Examinat that both he the sayd Mackhelhinny and Thomas McDonnell did shoot att one tyme against Serjeant Gettinbee, but which of them [or w ] killed him or whither both shotts did hit him he knew not
