The Examinacion of Patricke ô Hara of the Parish of Loughgeill in the County of Antrim Gent taken before vs at Colerane the said 16th day of March 1652
<B> Who being duely examined saith That Art oge O Neile of the ffevagh in the County of Antrim came with a party of men soone after the Murder at Portnaw vnto this Examinants house in the parish of Loughgeill in the said County of Antrim vpon which this Examinante fled to Glanbush 3 miles from his owne house feareing them because he hid & concealed one Thomas Robinson who soone after was kill’d at Ballycastle & one David Meatlan who likewise was kill’d betwixt this Examinants house & Oldstone And this Examinante further saith That the said Art oge ô Neiles party tooke this Examinants wife prisoner for that he had hid & concealed the said Robinson & Meatlan & carryed her to Oldstone. That this Examinant the morneing after Oldstone was surrendered went thither to gett his wife released, & James mcColl McDonnell & the said Art oge ô Neile caused this Examinants wife to be restored vnto him & he returned thence & lived at his Owne house in Loughgall & would not meddle with either Scotch or Irish thereafter but lived quietly at his owne house in Loughgall

Loughgeill parish And being demaunded if he see any kill’d in or about Oldstone Towne or Castle he saith he see none kill’d there but he heard that some were kill’d there & about or neere Clanravell river a mile thence And further he saith that he came twice vnto the Irish Campe which besieged Colerane once being sent for to bring Contribucion vnto the Campe & the other time he went vnto Allester <C> McColl to gett restitucion of two horses taken from him to be troope horses, that he only staid two or three daies in the Campe & re{turned} home againe & further he saith that some of his tennants who {} poore & bare ioyned with the Irish in besiegeing Colerane {} himselfe never had any Command neither assisted [ ] in {} against the Scotch nor carryed any Armes at any time when {he} was abroad except a sword & that he was not present where any fig{} or where any was kill’d And further he saith that when all the Iri{sh} fled over the Bann he went along with them for feare of the Scotts Army And further he saith not
