The Examination of John Duffe McGillchatten of Clegnagh in the Parish of Ballentoy yeoman < [ ] > taken before vs the said 1st day of March 1652
<17> Who being duely sworne & examined saith That Coll McToole McAllester about a Moneth after the Murder at Portnaw tooke this Examinante & saved his life to be his plowman, And that when he soe tooke this Examinante into service he the said Toole was lying in Campe at a place called Magherenahar about a Mile above <C> Ballentoy with about fortie men whereof some had pikes which he this Examiannte supposes was to keepe in the Garrison of Ballentoy And this Examinante further saith that he heard from severall Irish whose names he knowes not that the said Coll McToole McAllester with his Company was in the lainey at the Rout & Murder of the Brittish vpon the day called blackfriday And further the saith not
