The Examinacion of Bryan McIlcrany aged about 40 yeeres taken at Carickfergus the 5th of May 1653
Being demanded if he knew of the takeing Thomas Ingram shortly after the rebellyon, Answereth that he was sent by his Capten Bryan McCormacke o Neill with a Sergeant Edmond McRory And a fyle of men ouer from the County of Ardmagh into the English quart{er} neere Lisnegarvy for preyes &c: where they met the said Thomas who being a souldier vnder Collo Conway & with his piece shot the Sergeant in the Thigh whereupp{on} they pursued & tooke him after they had wounded him in the head with a pike & that the rest would haue kild him but for this examinant who rescued him for former acquaintance sake & that they compounded with him for fiue pounds to be giuen To cure the Sergeant & caryed him ouer the Band where there said Capten forced him from them & after caused him to be hanged as this examinant was informed. And being further demanded what became of the said Capten sayth he was about two years after kild as this examinant heard by Leonard Ingram brother to the said Tho: & others of Maior Rawdens troope who were sent out uppon a Party./.
Being demanded who was with the party at the killing three of Capten Michells troope sayth he knew nothing thereof onely heard that one Nice McCan who he much affected whias one of the slayne but knew not of the acting it further sayth not
