The Examination of Alaster Mackelhenney being aged about sixty yeeres taken the 16: May: 1653
Who being sworne sayeth that he dwelt in the first yeere of the Rebellion in Redbay, that he heard of a Murther committed upon Certayne persons neere to the land on which he this examinant dwelt; And that he was went upon the place where the corps lay, not that then altogether cold; That he this examinant went with Neil McCreinte to the place, the which Neil McCreinte, came to this examinant after the murther was committed, and they two went out together (after they had layd up this Examinants corne which som Irish had scattered in searching for one Robbins) and comming to the place where the corps were, and he this examinant buryed the said corps, which he sayth that McGunstenan and Alaster Makillip did murther as he this examinant beleeueth because, that the say d two persons being standing there by the corps when he examinant asked the sayd McGunnstenan and Makillip why they had killed these woemen ( which were three) the sayd McGunstenan and Mackillipp answered (presenting pykes to this examinants breast) hold your peace churle wee will serue yourself soe
